Temporary Postponement of Bibl
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Temporary Postponement of Bible Blog: Limited Connectivity
Good morning! Today is the beginning of a grand new day in our ministries history. Today myself, two dedicated staff members and one brave board member will begin preparation for a ten day trip to the old Soviet Union.
We will be traveling to Ukraine (beginning tomorrow morning) and have hopes of starting nine chapters of our world wide addictions program Reformers Unanimous. Our goal on this trip is two fold. To start chapters and to build the infrastructure necessary to begin a huge expansion of our ministry to this part of the world.
Many of you have been involved in the funding of this new vision we have entitled "The Russian Invasion". This part of the world is absolutely riddled with addiction and almost completely open to the gospel. We are beginning in Ukraine, for I am told all "gospel" roads to the former Soviet Union lead through this city. Thus, it is a key city in which to begin our operations.
We are partnering with Neil Cadwell. Please pray for him and his team. We will begin our journey with a training course to those who are enrolled in his Bible College. There we will train his students to build a chapter of our program in their own church. These training classes (15 hours) will also be attended by Pastors from all parts of the former Union. I know of three from Belarus alone. Each of these pastors are traveling a great distance for training and seem prepared to start immediately if possible.
We have just completed our translation work. Thanks again to all those who supported this part of the project. Thanks to our friends and connections in Canada, we were able to get an extremely professional translation project completed in a very short amount of time. They even have our training manual translated. We expect 100 people at the training class, so please pray for it to be a good success.
I must confess that I know little about building the framework of an international ministry. I need God to not only answer our questions, but to give us some more questions to be answered. We believe by faith that we will learn so much on this trip so as to catapult the international arm of our ministry to a greater growth process anywhere God wants us to be.
So with that said, please pray for this trip and remember our families at this time, as well. I am told to pack and prepare for the accommodations of a third world county (we have to pack essentials such as toilet paper). So this will be no club med trip! But I am sure my heart will be broken and spilled out for the Ukrainian people. I am told that hair spray is $4 a bottle because they choose to drink it!
As a result of the poor living conditions of where we will be basing our ministry during this time, I will have limited connectivity with the Internet. I was saddened to learn this. It has been suggested that I postpone my daily blogs until I return. I will most probably use my first Blog upon my return to update you on the success of the trip.
We need you at RU! Please continue to support our projects in prayer and sacrificial giving and please keep our students across the world on your meditations. Jesus said that if welove them, they will know we are His disciple! Isn't that a wonderful thing to be known by?
I love you, through RU! You will hear from me again in 11 days if our good Lord so desires.
