The Inspiration of Transformat
Good morning! They say the Bible is by far the best selling book ever written. It's the only book God wrote! Those books we buy at the bookstores, God didn't write those books, He wrote THIS one-the B.I.B.L.E!
As a matter of fact, no other book written has had more books written about it. By far, the Bible has spurned more books that make effort to explain nearly every jot and title contained therein. This book, our Bible is surely a Book that has no equal.
God's main purpose for offering by authoring this great Book for the ages is explained for us in a well known but often under applied passage found in 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 where we read " All Scripture is given by inspiration of God". That means that the ENTIRE word of God has been God breathed. Inspiration has two meanings behind it. The first is to "inhale into the lungs" and the second is to "infuse ideas into the mind."
Thus we see that God inhales, speaks through His Word and thus His Plan is planted into our minds, all in one fail swoop of God induced inspiration. These verses go on to explain that all Scripture "is profitable for doctrine (that's what's right), for reproof (that's what's not right), for correction (that's how to get right), for instruction in righteousness (that's how to stay right)."
What a Book! These are four positions I find myself in every single day: either trying to find our what's right or what's not right. Or, if having overlooked that direction in th first place, I find myself searching to rectify my mistakes by determining how to get right and when I fortunately and often "finally follow Him", I find my focus in how to stay right.
All these answers to the four key questions in life are not intended to inform us, they are intended to transform us. And we can be sure that every portion of the transformation process begins with an inspiration-a God breathed answer, infused into the mind! Man, I love this Book! But why did God write such a Book for mankind?
Our next verse answers that question as well, He goes on to say that all Scripture is given "that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." Perfect means finished! Furnished means supplied. Thus we learn that God's plan for man "supplies" a few "finishing touches".
He saves us, through OUR faith in His Son (Ephesians 2:8,9) and He changes us through our yielding to the faith OF His Son (Galatians 2:20). But in order to complete "of change" He SUPPLIED a FINISHING touch. That finishing touch was the Word of God that we might be supplied with the necessary Power to be given "on and to" (the word unto) good works.
But lest we forget, it is not the simple reading, the diligent study, the sacrificial memorization or the consistent hearing of the Word being preached, but it is the meditation of His inspiration that produces the transformation!
Yes, God informs man, but rather than doing so through simple information like every other book written, He does it through the "transformation of an inspiration". This influential inspiration comes from the incarnate Son of God and the transcribed Son of God-both of Whom is Jesus, the Truth. And both the Word "His Son" and the Word "His Sword" are communicated through mouthpiece of the Spirit of God living within the spirit of our inner man.
Oh, it's good to be a child of God with a little black Book!
A QUESTION FOR TODAY'S MEDITATION: "Am I trying to change my life or I am allowing Him to exchange my life?" As we mentioned in yesterday's blog, Jesus came for a complete exchange. His life for ours! No other way around it. He doesn't want you to be a better you, He wants you to be a deader you! Let's remember that from yesterday and apply it yet today.
Have a wonderful day IN the Lord,
